Need DSC Advice

Hi there,

I am finally going to replace an old fixed Mount VHF Radio and I see that nearly all the new ones come with DSC (Digital selective calling).

The plan was to wire this into my GPS, which looks pretty easy. However I also see that I have to get an MMSI Number. Where can I get this number and how do I use DCS once setup? Any help would be appreciated.
