It depends on how many sinks and showers you have on the boat and how many outlets you use at once. A good 3 gallon per minute pump will power two sinks and a shower very well as long as someone isn't washing dishes while someones in the shower. For multiple sinks and showers to run simultaneously it is well advised to go to a 5 GPM or larger. Shurflo, Jabsco, and West Marine brand pumps are all very comparable and will self prime ensuring no damage if ran dry.
